Running in the New Year

Here we are almost halfway into the first month of the new year!  I started the year with the combined Pooch and Pal run and Thunder Run on New Year’s day.  Elisabeth came with me and held the leach for the Pooch and Pal with our dog Babe.  We had a nice 1.5 mile run / walk on the outer perimeter of Big Cross.

Then came the Thunder Run.  The Thunder Run is a 5K prediction run.  This really levels the playing field because the idea is to predict how long it will take you and then run it in that time.  The clock is started with the plan that the race ends at a given time.  You subtract your prediction from the planned finish time and start with the clock reaches that point.  I didn’t win the race but I was the lucky “winner” of the wheel barrow that Bill Leahy gives away each year.  Thanks Bill!  I am honored to be among the winners of the wheelbarrow.
